Welcome message of the Secretary for Transport and Housing

I am delighted to join you at the International Conference on Smart Mobility and Logistics in Future Cities jointly organised by the Institute of Transport Studies at the University of Hong Kong (HKU ITS), the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK) and the Transport Department (TD).

This Conference is one of the key events celebrating the 50th anniversary of CILTHK and TD, as well as the 20th anniversary of the Master of Arts in Transport Policy and Planning of the University of Hong Kong.   I offer my congratulations and gratitude to the Institute and the University for their invaluable contributions in nurturing and supporting transport and logistics professionals in Hong Kong over the past decades.   I also congratulate TD on its remarkable achievements, and look forward to more successes in the next 50 years.

This conference brings together a distinguished list of speakers and over 400 experts from overseas and various fields.  It is an excellent platform for the academia, professionals in transport and logistics, and policy makers to come together to explore the latest trends in smart mobility and logistics development, and to deliberate the opportunities and challenges ahead.

I wish the Conference every success and a rewarding exchange by all participants, and to those of you from abroad, a pleasant stay in Hong Kong.

Mr. CHAN Fan, Frank, JP
Secretary for Transport and Housing
