With the overarching goal of developing Hong Kong into a smart city, this conference offers an excellent platform to inspire innovative breakthroughs and solutions amidst the growing challenges in our transport system and logistics sector. I wish the Conference every success and look forward to the fruitful exchange of experience in implementing smart mobility and logistics with other cities, fuelling novel ideas that can be introduced in Hong Kong in the near future.

The Conference also marks the 50th anniversary of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong and the Transport Department, as well as the 20th anniversary of the Master of Arts in Transport Policy and Planning programme of the University of Hong Kong.
